Want to Vent about your Job??

JobVent is the web site for people who are about to start looking out for a new job or want to see what employees think of their target companies. JobVent is an anonymous site and if you got experiences that are truly memorable / discontented; this is the place to be!!

The layout does not surely give you a Web 2.0 kind of a feel but the site is very user friendly. JobVent already has 1000’s of companies already mentioned and more than 5000 reviews across the world. I am glad that people in India have also started using this web site. I managed to find 3 reviews of companies in Bangalore and Mumbai. I am sure I am going to find a lot more companies soon and also that this medium can be used effectively!

So Happy Venting!!

The End of Job Boards!

Traditional approach had career portals like , , , , and the like reigning the Online Recruitment Space. But changing times have changed the trend.

Now, jobsites all over the globe are facing a dearth of quality postings turning the spots on to another arena… yes you’ve got that right, Blogs!

Blogs are no longer just a collection of web blogs… they are the next gen Jobsites. There are a lot of tech blogs that publish Jobs these days. Some of the popular ones like , have job threads along with their Blogs. This might sound very convoluted and you may begin to think that it burns a hole in the pocket, but the fact is pretty much on the contrary.

My personal favorites are :-

:- who lets you post a job on their site and includes a referral reward. Publishers can send the job out to their contacts and, if they desire, to search engines as well. Revenues are split in half. For further details, click here .

:- is a new entrant by , in competition with Job Thread.

Like Job Thread, publishers can set their own listing price, and the service will cost the publisher to share 30% of any revenue generated from those listings.

Both services have no frills attached.

Wonder why no Indian recruiter provides similar services?

I would like to have one some day… some day soon.

Congratulation Cheesman!

Cheezhead has been awarded the blog of the year by Recruiting.com.

Jason rightly says,

Joel is always trying to get the scoop first and has a unique perspective on the recruiting industry. He is not a recruiter but is deeply immersed in the industry with a heavy slant on SEO and how this can help recruiters and companies get more people hired.

Joel’s blog is a great example of how blogs can be used and is an absolute must read for people involved in the recruiting business.
Cheezman has also a lot of initiatives running in his labs, which you can find here.

Cheezman, you rock !! Great Job and wishing you the very best next year :)
